Fix: How to connect to the Ares Galaxy Network/ Cómo conectarse a la red Ares Galaxy

This problem has been resolved in version 2.1.1.3035, download it from the official Ares Galaxy site at http://aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net/

The Ares Galaxy network has been under attack the last months. The new users aren't able to connect because the Cnodes can't deliver the required initial IP addresses to the clients.

This is a temporary solution, (it doen't help the Cnodes) but at least you will be able to connect. The method consists of downloding manually the list of trusted IPs. I have tested it in three computers and it works! (Windows XP & Vista )

1) Close Ares Galaxy and look for the following directory (be sure you can see hidden files):

C:\Documents and Settings\Your username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ares\Data\

Delete all the content.

2) Download this file and uncompress it in the same folder.

3) Open Ares Galaxy and try to connect. It may be necessary to disable your firewall a few moments. It should be working now.

El problema ha sido resuelto en la versión 2.1.1.3035, descarga Ares Galaxy de la página oficial http://aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net/

Después de formatear mi computadora, instalé Ares Galaxy y nunca se conectaba. Pasaron como dos meses y seguía con el mismo problema. Probé programas similares como Limewire, Frostwire, Shareaza, etc., pero ninguno es tan bueno y sencillo como Ares. Ya estaba resignandome hasta que fuí a un cybercafé y noté que en esa computadora el ares si se conectaba.

Investigando, me enteré en qué consiste el problema. Cuando Ares se conecta por primera vez, requiere de la ayuda de una lista de servidores llamados Cnodes. Sin embargo, estos se han encontrado bajo constante ataque, evitando que los nuevos clientes se conecten. La solución consiste en indicarle a Ares manualmente cuales son las direcciones IP que necesita.

Los pasos que tienen que seguir son:

1) Primero vayan al siguiente directorio y borren todo su contenido:

C:\Documents and Settings\Tu nombre de usuario\Configuración local\Datos de Programa\Ares\Data\

2) Descarga este archivo y descomprimelo en el mismo directorio.

3) Ahora ya deberías conectarte sin problema =)

A propósito, no utilicen clientes como el Ares Gold o Ares Destiny que contienen spyware. El cliente oficial es Ares Galaxy.
